Dunmore East has the cliff walk on its doorstep, and three more good walks within a 20-minute drive. Here's the pairing — walk, then meal at The Spinnaker.

Doneraile Cliff Walk (from the village)

2km loop, 40-60 minutes. Sea-cliff views to Hook Head. Starts and ends in the village — the easiest pairing with a meal.

Mount Congreve Gardens (15 minutes inland)

Substantial gardens west of Waterford City — paid entry, full afternoon if you want it. Drive on to Dunmore East after for the evening meal.

Tramore Promenade and dunes (20 minutes west)

Long beach, dune system, sea-front prom. Good for kids or a slower walk than the cliff path. Drive back to Dunmore East for dinner.

Newtown Cove and the coast path west

Six kilometres west — small cove, swimming, a short coastal walk. Pair with a drive back east to The Spinnaker for the meal.

The meal at the end

Whichever walk you do, the natural end is The Spinnaker. Ring (051) 383 133 from the car park on the way back.
