As a general guide: The Spinnaker is open from mid-afternoon through late evening on weekdays, and from lunchtime through late evening on weekends and during the summer season. Food is typically served from mid-afternoon into the evening. For exact times on any given day, a quick phone call is the most reliable option.

How to Find Us

Dunmore East is located on the Waterford coast, approximately 16 kilometres south-east of Waterford City. It's a straightforward drive along the R684, following signs for Dunmore East through Passage East and Checkpoint, or directly via the R684 from Waterford.

Once you're in the village, follow the road down to the harbour. The Spinnaker Bar is right there at the Lower Village, with the fishing boats and harbour wall in front of you. It's one of the first things you see as you come into the village from the main road.

Getting Here from Major Towns

• From Waterford City: 16km, approximately 20 minutes. Take the R684 south through Checkpoint and follow signs for Dunmore East.
• From Tramore: Approximately 22km, around 25 minutes via the R675 and R684.
• From Wexford: Approximately 60km, around 45–50 minutes via the N25 and R733 through Arthurstown, or via the Passage East ferry for a shorter, scenic crossing.
• From Kilkenny: Approximately 65km, around 55 minutes via the N10 and R684.
• From Cork: Approximately 170km, around 2 hours via the N25.

Parking in Dunmore East

There is free public parking available in Dunmore East village, close to the harbour. Parking can be busy during the summer months and on bank holiday weekends, so arriving slightly earlier than planned is always a good idea. The village is compact and very walkable once you've parked.

The Passage East Ferry

If you're coming from Wexford or further east, the Passage East Car Ferry offers a quick and scenic crossing of Waterford Harbour, cutting significant time off the journey. The ferry runs regularly and connects Passage East (Co. Waterford) with Ballyhack (Co. Wexford). From Passage East, Dunmore East is just a short drive south along the coast road.
