Where to Get Lunch in Dunmore East (2026): the 1–4pm Answer
For years, 'where can we get lunch in Dunmore East?' had a complicated answer involving the season, the day, and a phone call. As of July 2026 the answer is one line: The Spinnaker, on the harbour, every day from 1pm to 4pm — a full new lunch menu, cooked in the village.
The short version
The Spinnaker Bar, Lower Village, Dunmore East — lunch daily 1pm–4pm. Toasted sandwiches €6.95–€7.95, six hot paninis €9.50–€10.95, wraps €9.95, homemade soup €7, the famous seafood chowder €13.50, and open sandwiches on homemade brown bread — smoked salmon €12, fresh Dunmore East crab €16. Everything with a side salad; gluten-free bread available; sides €5. Ring (051) 383 133 for groups.
Pick by situation
Family off the beach: toasties and paninis keep it under €10 a head, and children are welcome — the deck works when the sun's out.
Visitors you want to impress: chowder to start, crab on brown bread after. Both taste like the harbour they came from.
Quick stop on the coast road: a panini, pressed hot, comes fast — and there's parking near the lifeboat station.
Long lazy one: lunch starters run to mussels in chorizo cream (€13.95) and wings (€13); the full list is on the menu page, and there's a proper dessert fridge if you're staying put.
The practical bits
Lunch is the one fixed food window in the village — 1pm to 4pm, seven days. Evenings still move with the season, so check the Spinnaker Facebook page before you drive out for dinner. Walk-ins are fine most lunchtimes; six or more, ring ahead on (051) 383 133.
